Stromboli {inserts an Italian accent}is like a rolled up pizza with all your favorite cheese, ham and Italian seasoning. The best part about this, is that it can feed a crowd and the ingredients aren’t cast on stone. Best for a kids snack, a picnic appetizer, brunch or whatever you want it to be. Surprise yourself darling.

Making a “bacon & ham Stromboli”
Prep time: 5 mins Bake time: 25 mins Total time: 30 mins
Serves: 5 people
MAIN INGREDIENTS:
- Bread or pizza dough
- Chicken ham – 5 slices
- 8 cooked bacon – chopped
- beef ham – 5 slices
- 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon of butter – soften
- a pinch of garlic powder
- a pinch of cayenne chili powder
- a pinch of ginger powder
- An egg – as egg wash
- 1 tablespoon of water
Important tools Used:
- An oven
- baking tray
- pastry brush
- knife
- rolling pin
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 200 C.
- Roll out the dough to a rectangle shape, make sure the edges aren’t too thick.
- Apply the soften butter to the surface of the rolled out dough. Sprinkle some of the spices – OPTIONAL.
- Align all your filling – close to the edge as possible leave about an inch from the edge.
- Start rolling from the side facing you to the opposite.
- Tuck in the edges and the sides.
- Gently transfer the stuffed dough to a lightly floured baking tray.
- Beat an egg + a tablespoon of water = to make an egg wash. Lightly brush it gently on the surface of the stuffed dough.
- Using a sharp knife, make light cuts at the top of the stuffed dough, this will allow steam out and for design.
- Bake in the oven for 25 mins and until the top is golden brown.
- Allow it to cool for 10 min before slicing. Enjoy with a sauce of your choice.
