Literary the pronunciation of the word “Strata” is Stray -da”
This is a classic casserole dish that is made up of layers of bread, cheese, meat or vegetables over which a mixture of eggs and milk are combined together as a custard. The mixture is then usually refrigerated before it is baked. Another simpler way of understanding this dish – Imagine a quiche /frittata and a bread pudding made love they would bear offsprings /a hybrid called a Strata. Apart from the obvious of this dish being beyond delicious, it just perfect for brunch since it’s best known to serve a large group.
