There’s no better time to start up a “left over chicken series” than with the help of KFC. For the longest time, the thought of having a food series on both my blog and YouTube channel has always been my to-do list but never have I ever gotten to work through it. Here we are now, trying to make it work and work well with you guys as well. I decided to start off on a simple note such as rolls ups and best believe this is very quick.

Making “Chicken french toast roll ups”

Here’s what you’ll need:

Prep time: 5 mins   Cook time: 10 mins   Total time: 15 mins

Serves: 3 pax

Yields: 9 roll ups

Main Ingredients:

  • KFC leftover chicken
  • 9 slices of bread
  • peanut butter
  • egg wash { 1 egg + 2 egg yolks}
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne chili powder
  • vegetable oil

Important tools:

  • saucepan /frying pan
  • rolling pin
  • knife
  • butter knife
  • serviettes
  • fork

Instructions:

Step 1: Shred the chicken

Using a fork, manually shred the chicken to pieces and then slice them up using a knife for the bigger pieces. Set them a side.

Step 2: Prep the sliced bread

Cut off the edges of each sliced bread. Thinly roll out the middle spongy part flat on both sides. This will help make them more flexible without breaking.

Step 3: Apply the peanut.

On one side of each slice of flattened bread, apply some binder – peanut butter.

Step 4: Roll it up

Align the chicken shreds at one end of the slice, and firmly roll it up to the other end.

Step 5: Coat and shallow fry

Dip and coat each roll up into the seasoned egg wash mix and shallow fry over a saucepan over high heat.

Step 6: Serve and enjoy.

Add a sauce of your choice and with either a hot or cold drink.
