Bruschetta pronounced as “brew – shetta“, is an Italian simple appetizer prepared within minutes and can be taken any time of the day.


The perfect bruschetta requires that bread be grilled then rubbed down with slices of raw garlic, drizzled with olive oil and finished with a little bit of sea salt and fresh pepper. To further incorporate the evolving of the polished bruschetta, thinly diced tomatoes, garlic,red onions, basil or cilantro are added to complete this look.

Making “French toast bruschetta“.


Prep time: 5 mins  Cook time: 5 mins

Yields: 9 pieces.



  • 1/2 a baguette bread {long french bread}
  • 2 ripe tomatoes -thinly diced
  • 1/4 red onion – thinly diced
  • 1 clove of garlic – minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp of olive oil
  • few leaves of cilantro
  • salt, black pepper and cayenne chili flakes – to taste


  1. Into one dish/bowl, add in the tomatoes, garlic and red onions, season it with salt, pepper and chili flakes and mix them all together. Drizzle in olive oil, mix and chill it for 2 mins.


2. Slice the baguette bread -diagonally “or in a slated position. Beat the eggs, season it with salt – mix. Dip each of the baguette slices into the egg wash and french toast it on a non stick pan to cook on each side.


3. Immediately they are all toasted, align them on a board, and get out the bruschetta mix, garnish the toasted bread then serve.


Final outcome:

Remember you don’t necessarily have to use the ingredients I have used, you can supplement the tomatoes with -fruits, vegetable, meat, and cheeses.
