“Change the changeable, accept the unchangeable and remove yourself from the unacceptable”.

                                                           Dennis Waitley.

After making this dish/snack, I realized that I have been eating bread the wrong way. Normal is boring sometimes, but having and enjoying the same dish in a different -fun twisted way, makes it more exciting.

HD – doesn’t mean high definition, it means “Hot Dog“. {Don’t get it twisted}.

Imagine the number of times people buy the sliced bread, and the numerous times people eat it the same way by applying the normal applicable {jam, blue band, nutela, cream cheese etc} It’s countless right?? Its not like “we” don’t like to eat it differently it’s because “we” don’t like change or “we” are just too lazy to prepare it differently. We have the resources to make that change, since the formula in making that change is as simple as picking the bread from the shelf.

“Sometimes a little change is a good thing”.

Making “HD – French Toast Roll Ups.

Prep time: 5 mins  Cook time: 10 mins

Total time: 15 mins

Serves : 2 pax

*Main Ingredients*

-6 hot dogs

-6 slices of white bread {Butter toast}

-6 slices of cheddar cheese

-2 eggs

-1 tsp of cinnamon {optional}

-1 Tablespoon of sugar {optional}

-Vegetable oil {or Butter}

*Other tools*

-Chopping board, knife, fork, non- sticking pan, rolling pin.

1. Cut off the crust of the slices of bread, and flatten the remaining part of the bread using the rolling pin.

2. Place a slice of cheese on each “shorter” side of the flattened bread. Place one hot dog at the edge of the shorter side of the bread, then roll it up as you press it firmly. “Make sure the bread doesn’t break.

3. Pre -heat the pan with 3 table spoons of vegetable oil on medium low heat. Beat the two eggs together to make an egg wash. Dip the roll up into the egg wash.

4. When the oil is hot enough, place 3 rolls at once and shallow fry them till golden brown. Set on paper towels to drain any excess oil.

5. This step is OPTIONAL: Roll them in the cinnamon sugar, then immediately serve. Instead of the sugar, you can drizzle maple syrup or chocolate syrup or have it just as it is in the above picture.

Final Outcome:

If someone gave me these roll ups before hand, I would never have guessed they are made of /covered with actual slices of bread”. They so resemble “some what of sausage rolls.

Creamy and gooey on the inside -cause of the cheese and slightly crunchy on the outside -cause of the egg and sugar.

Mind blowing. You will never eat sliced bread the same way, trust me.

Love and Love.
