What am I going to do without “my cravings”?? They always guide me to try new recipes and eventually I end up entertaining you {readers} guys. My joy is to keep you guys reading, salivating, and head home to try some if not all of the recipes on this blog.

“Best pronunciation of Lasagna {La-za-nia}”

Most foodies out there, call this the “Lazy one pot Lasagna” dish and recipe, since there is practically, no boiling, no layering and definitely no baking. Everything gets to be made into one pot from the beginning to the end. It should taste just as good as the baked lasagna. After a long day at work, the last thing I want to do, is get home cook some more and wait for an a hour to sit and eat, not forgetting the kitchen is all messy…..SMH!! This L.O.P.L {Lazy one pot lasagna}, is just perfect for those days I crave comfort food and when I want it fast, now and with lots of cheese.

Making “Lazy One pot Lasagna”.

Prep time: 10 mins Cook time: 20 mins  Total = 30mins

Serves: 4 pax

MAIN INGREDIENTS:

  • 8 Lasagna noodles
  • 1/2 kg of ground beef
  • 6 slices of bacon -diced
  • 1 medium -diced red onion
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes

SPICES:

  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 Tablespoon of tomatoe paste
  • 1/4 tsp of cayenne chili flakes
  • 1/4 tsp rosemary
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp coriander
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

CHEESES:

  • Ricotta
  • cheddar

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Lightly fry the bacon till slightly brown, then add in the ground beef and cook for 5 mins. Once browned, add in the onions and caned tomatoes plus a cup of water {or broth}. You might add more water need arises. Allow it to cook for 10 -15 mins on medium high heat.

2. Break the lasagna noodles into size-able pieces, add in the spices, and place them in the sauce and let it boil with it for 3 -5 mins. {Mix in between the timings -so the noodles can all cook well}.

3. Grate the cheddar cheese, and prep the ricotta cheese by topping dollops of the ricotta cheese onto the lasagna and sprinkling the shredded cheddar on top. Switch off the heat, and cover the skillet for 2 mins for the cheese to melt.

Serve Immediately -while still hot.

You can garnish with basil, cilantro or have it just like that. Its super cheesy and I could definitely taste the bacon flavor and the heat from chili flakes. Its creamy and super delicious.
