Here is yet another way to prepare and enjoy rice.

I have decided to let my creativity go wild in the kitchen, and I am planing to stick to that routine. The foodies that I have come to network with and just chat about food especially on Instagram like – @foodbloggerandrea, @foodunder5, @fullyrawKristina and  @foodsbyricky, the passion they have with food and being creative is out of this world. Y’all should check these foodies out, trust me -you wouldn’t be disappointed.

Yesterday, before I left work, I did a little research about left over rice and how one could turn it to some appealing and appetizing dish, apart from having Arancini again. Watched some food network and ….hell yasssss!! I finally got my IT dish for the night.

Making : Nasi Goreng Aka “Indonesian fried rice“.

Before we begin, this dish is supposed to be spicy, meaty and eggs are the main ingredients. If you cant stand one or the other, don’t lose the whole dish,… just switch it up with something you can actually eat and enjoy.

Here we go!!

*Main Ingredients*

– Left over rice {Mine was frozen} de-Frosting

– 1 large chopped red onion

– 3 cloves of chopped garlic

– 1 beaten egg

– 1 egg -{Last part}

– mixed veges

– 1 chopped cucumber

– 2 Tsp of soy sauce

– 3 Tsp of sugar

– 1 chili beef cube

– 1/2 tsp of chili flakes

– 1/2 tsp of salt

– 1/2 tsp of black pepper

– 1/4 tsp of coriander

– 1 cube of butter {Or use vegetable oil}

1. Medium heat a sufuria /Pan with the butter, add in the onions and garlic and stir till they are soft and slightly brown. Add in the mixed veges and stir. The cover for 3-5 mins -steam.

2. After 5 mins, season the veges- stir and let it sit for another min for it to mix with all the flavors.

3. While still covered, I used a pan to cover the sufuria so I could fasten the defrost-station using the steam from the veges. It did help.

4. Mix the rice with the veges and mix well, add in the beef chili cube, beaten egg, soy sauce, and sugar. Mix again thoroughly. You will notice , the rice just changed to brown due to the soy sauce. Leave it for 2 more mins, while you stirs.

5. Plate it on a smaller bowl  then place it back on the serving plate.

6. Heat a frying pan, and crack an egg directly to the hot pan to make an omelette { With one side cooked}. Remove it an plate it on top of the bowled rice. I garnished with slices of cucumber.

Seasoned the Egg with chili flakes and salt.P1090722P1090720

Mmmmmmh!!! Yummm Nom. Nom.

This is a very sweet yet savory -spicy dish, y’all are going to LOVE this one.

Love and Love.
