If you’ve been following my blog quite often, you will notice that my recipes lately have been slightly directed to the pastry dishes which has become one of my favorite foods to prepare. A bit of complexity here and there keeps me excited. Some of my frequent readers suggested I put up a simple dish once in a while, so on Friday I opted for a simple but quick to whip up, so here you go guys.

Making “Spicy red sauce pasta with Peas”.

Prep time: 10 mins  Cook time: 35 mins  = 45 mins

Serves: 3 pax



  • 1 cup of pasta
  • 1 canned tin of tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of frozen cooked peas


  • 2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp of coriander
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp of ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp of paprika
  • 1 tsp of soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp of rosemary
  • 2 tsp of sunflower oil
  • 4 Tsp of brown sugar
  • cheddar cheese


  1. Boil the pasta with 1 tsp of sunflower oil and salt for about 7 to 10 mins. Drain off the water and set a side.
  2. Take a non stick pan, on medium heat a teaspoon of sunflower oil, add in the canned tomatoes let it simmer for 10 min while cover. After 10 mins, add in the spices, but leave out the sugar.


3. With so much acidity in the canned tomatoes, on this stage we get to add a little bit of sweetness with 4 tablespoons of sugar, stir and let it cook for 5-8 mins. Later we get to add in frozen peas to cook for 2 mins max.


4. Add the pasta, mix everything together – cover and let it all cook together for 10 mins as you mix at an interval of 3 mins.


5. Serve while still hot. Grate cheddar cheese on top  {Optional}, then dig in.
