Where do you shop for your Veggies?
Most of my groceries happens at (Marikiti market) by 6am we are there waiting and watching patiently for the produce to be off loaded off the lorries.

It's the perfect time to get everything you need fresh - Top layer, if I do say so myself.

DON'T CARRY YOUR PHONES!

Have a grocery list and work with a budget.

Proper unkempt gear / attire is adviced for such markets.

Bring your own "kiondoo" / bags to avoid unnecessary purchases.

You see that crisp English you have, leave it in your car and bring out your mother tongue or swahili coz, that's how to win when negotiating on the prices.

Maximum amount we spend ksh 2500. This will cater for enough food to last us 1.5 months for only 2 grown adults and we eat a lot!

MEAT:
Dagoreti slaughter house
.... Is where to purchase your meat ( beef, liver, matumbo & pork).

There is One RULE when shopping for meat at Dagoreti slaughter house. DO NOT TALK POLITICS!!

NEVER purchase minced meat that's already being minced. Ask for steak watch them cut it, then ask for them to minced it for you. It's safe and better this way.

Chicken: City market (specific vendor)
Not my favorite place, but it works.
Have your butcher wear clean gloves before they serve or touch meat. THIS IS MY RULE at least.
